'Vino in Musica' Valiano 2018

Valiano's 'Vino in Musica' is a red wine that celebrates a great passion of Pierangiolo Piccini, the third generation of the historic Chianti family. Like a symphony combining sounds and instruments, this wine unites Cabernet and Sangiovese, France and Italy, in the pursuit of harmony of taste: dark fruits such as ripe plums and blueberries meet spicy notes of chocolate and hints of dried flowers. Juice, intensity and warmth are supported by velvety tannins. Ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels lends depth and complexity, culminating in a lingering finish that promises considerable evolution over time

'VINO IN MUSICA' VALIANO 2018 DESCRIPTION

With its style somewhere between tradition and modernity, the red 'Vino in Musica' from the Chianti wine estate Fattoria di Valiano offers a different interpretation of the Chianti Classico territory. This bottle tells of the burning passion for music of Pierangiolo Piccini, owner of the renowned Piccini 1882 winery, to which the Valiano brand belongs. The label is also the result of a collaboration with the painter Giuseppe Chiari, the protagonist of the beautiful illustration.

Valiano 'Vino in Musica' comes from an equivalent blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, varieties cultivated in the Castelnuovo Berardenga area. In particular, the vines benefit from the significant temperature swings between day and night, as well as the soil matrix, rich in limestone and fragmented stone. Harvesting is carried out by hand towards the beginning of October, when the grapes have reached the ideal stage of ripeness, and is followed by destemming and gentle crushing of the bunches. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks for a period of 10-15 days, spent in contact with the skins. The subsequent ageing phase lasts 18 months and takes place in 225-litre French oak barriques, containers that increase the wine's complexity.

To the eye, Valiano's 'Vino in Musica' shows a dark ruby red colour with violet reflections. Vivid fruity sensations of morello cherry, plum and flowers give voice to the symphony of aromas together with deeper notes of dark chocolate, tobacco and candied orange. The taste is soft, intense and perceptibly tannic, with great intensity and persistence, characterised by a tasty finish in which the sensations of ripe fruit and spices previously perceived on the nose return.
