Pinot Noir Erste+Neue 2022

This Pinot Noir from Erste+Neue is a drinkable and elegant version of this noble grape variety, with a South Tyrolean twist. It originates at an altitude of 450-550 metres, from sandy-clay soils that help in the development of the fragrant aromatic bouquet. It reveals hints of red fruits, such as raspberries and cherries, immediate and pleasant. On the palate it is fresh and harmonious, soft in structure and with elegant, gentle tannins. PINOT NOIR ERSTE+NEUE 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Pinot Noir of the South Tyrolean winery Erste + Neue represents a suave and fruity interpretation of the best-known black berry vine from Burgundy, which in the Alto Adige region can give rise to very interesting expressions. In fact, Pinot Noir prefers cool climates, capable of enhancing the fruit and juicy taste of the resulting wine. It is no coincidence that in the South Tyrol, this grape is the most widely cultivated of the black grapes, testifying to the link between the vine and the territory. This Pinot Noir then belongs to the 'Classic' line, which was created with the aim of expressing the most direct character of the vines bred, resulting in wines of great versatility and typicality.

The Sudtirol Erste + Neue Pinot Noir is made solely from grapes of the Burgundy variety of the same name, sustainably cultivated on hillsides between 450 and 550 metres above sea level. The exposure is full east and the soil consists of clay and sand. Following the harvest, the grapes are vinified in red through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins, with the subsequent maturation phase taking place in oak barrels for a period of 5 months. After a further brief refinement in the bottle, the wine is finally ready for release.

To the eye, the South Tyrolean Pinot Noir of Erste + Neue reveals a light ruby red colour. On the nose, pleasant and delicate fruity scents reminiscent of cherry and raspberry emerge, enriched by fine floral hints. Fresh, elegant and juicy taste development, with an enveloping tannic texture that anticipates the vivid fruity returns on the finish. The producer himself suggests pairing it with white meat dishes and first courses dressed with vegetables or light sauces.
