GRASTA MANCIACIUMI 2022 DESCRIPTION

Through its earthy, volcanic essence, Manciaciumi's 'Grasta' red wine faithfully reflects the identity of its territory of origin. The Manciaciumi artisanal project was born in 2022 on the slopes of Etna from the initiative of Dario Sciuto, a young man from Catania who, after a degree in economics and several years spent travelling the world, first in the restaurant sector and then in beer production, gave life to the Manciaciumi wine reality, thanks also to the support of his two partners: Leonardo Di Vincenzo and Giovanni Nicita. The aim is to recover old vineyards scattered on the southern slope of Etna, from which to produce authentic, territorial wines.

Manciaciumi 'Grasta' originates from only red grapes grown according to organic farming principles on volcanic soils, particularly rich in minerals. Harvesting is done by hand and the grapes are then vinified in stainless steel tanks with the alcoholic fermentation entrusted solely to indigenous yeasts, for 60% of the mass with a 5-day maceration on the skins and for the remaining 40% by direct pressing. The total mass then rests in terracotta amphorae and throughout the entire process the use of invasive operations and additions is excluded, with maximum respect for the integrity of the wine.

Manciaciumi's 'Grasta' has an intense ruby red colour with garnet flashes. The olfactory context reveals perceptions of ripe red fruits, dried flowers and delicate spices, enhanced by evocative earthy mineral and volcanic notes. In the mouth, it is structured, enveloping and deep, with beautiful elegance and long persistence, with ripe tannins that contribute to the overall structure, supported by fruity and mineral sensations on the finish.
