Chianti Classico di Valiano is an elegant red wine from the Piccini group that combines a little Merlot with Sangiovese to give softness and dark fruit tones. The grapes are cultivated in the Castelnuovo Berardenga area in the Chianti region. The wine matures for only 3 months in barrels, so as to gain structure and maintain the full momentum of a young wine. The nose reveals flowers and red fruits, the sip is round and full, tannic but with an agile smile. Ideal with a traditional Tuscan menu, from typical hors d'oeuvres to pappardelle with wild boar ragout
The Chianti Classico signed Valiano - Piccini is a red wine to be appreciated for its not excessive structure, an element at the basis of the excellent versatility of this label. The Fattoria di Valiano label is one of six estates owned by the Piccini family, together with Piccini 1882, Tenuta Moraia and Villa al Cortile, all in Tuscany, Regio Cantina in Basilicata and Torre Mora in Sicily, on Mount Etna. The desire to invest in the world of wine outside the borders of Chianti, the Piccini family's land of origin, is part of an ambitious project to expand the vineyard park and properties in the family's hands, always under the banner of the core values of quality and sustainability.
Valiano - Piccini Chianti Classico is made from Sangiovese grapes combined with 5% Merlot, varieties grown according to the dictates of certified organic farming. Harvesting is carried out when the grapes have reached optimal ripeness and is followed by classic red vinification through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins. Instead, the subsequent maturation phase, which lasts about 3 months, takes place in large oak barrels and after a further rest in the bottle the wine is finally ready for release.
Chianti Classico di Valiano - Piccini has a lively ruby red colour. The nose is defined by inviting aromas of blueberry, raspberry, cherry and field violet, combined with hints of aromatic herbs and light aromas of leather that emerge on the finish. The taste is soft and fresh at the same time, well supported by the pleasant tannic texture that anticipates the rather fragrant closure, in which the perceptions of wild berries previously perceived on the nose re-emerge.
