The Italo-French artisanal project Tutti Frutti Ananas was born with the aim of highlighting the livelier, fresher and more drinkable face of Roussillon, a wine-growing region in the South of France located at the foot of the eastern Pyrenees. Home to this reality is in particular the territory of Banyuls-sur-Mer, a place where Manuel Di Vecchi Staraz, a young producer of Florentine origin and owner of the Vinyer de la Ruca winery, collaborates with other artisanal winemakers, including Joaquim Roque, Spanish producer of Domaine Carterole, and Zé Tafé of La Cave des Nomades, as well as his Neapolitan friend Francesco Pesci of the small winery Les Ânes Ailés. In particular, Manuel is in charge of vinification, Joaquim is responsible for looking after the vineyards while Zé Tafé is dedicated to the commercial side. The friendly name Tutti Frutti Ananas is also intended to emphasise the carefree and never demanding character of the production, in contrast to the warm and structured wines traditionally made in the Banyuls-sur-Mer area.

The varieties processed by the Tutti Frutti Ananas reality include Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Grenache Gris, Macabeu and Vermentino, as well as Garganega, Barbera and Merlot grapes sourced from trusted winegrowers in the Veneto region. In general, the vines are farmed sustainably, in accordance with the principles of organic farming, benefiting from the typically Mediterranean climate of the Banyuls-sur-Mer region, as well as the schistose nature of the soils. The oenological approach involves vinification often using whole bunches with strictly spontaneous fermentation, as well as the use of different types of wine containers, such as steel tanks, cement vats and old oak barrels, each capable of enhancing specific traits of the wines. Throughout the production process, clarification and filtration are excluded, while sulphite additions are either nil or minimal.

As mentioned, the wines of the Tutti Frutti Ananas reality stand out for their taut and dynamic drinkability, with great energy, an expression of the artisanal and modern vision that accompanies the protagonists of the project.
