Sergio Genuardi's Perricone 'Pietraissu' is a distinctly Sicilian red, made from one of the island's most intriguing indigenous grapes. The vines grow on soils rich in gypsum, a rock that gives the wine its name in Sicilian dialect. With a fresh profile, it matures briefly in steel and also in barriques to round out the sip. The nose releases red fruit aromas, with mineral hints reminiscent of saltiness and chalk. The palate is structured and tannic with a lingering mineral freshness. Ideal with juicy meat dishes
Intense ruby red with violet hues
Cherry and blackberry with intense iodine notes
Good body, fine tannins, balanced and pleasantly sapid
