ETNA ROSATO 'SCALUNERA' TORRE MORA - PICCINI 2024 DESCRIPTION

Etna Rosato 'Scalunera' is an Etnean rosé wine of exquisite freshness and momentum, produced by the Torre Mora - Piccini winery according to organic farming principles. The name of the 'Scalunera' collection derives from the name of the traditional Etnean terraces, built with lava stone walls, on which the vines are grown using the alberello system, describing a very evocative panorama reminiscent of a 'black staircase'.

Torre Mora - Piccini Etna Rosato 'Scalunera' originates from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes cultivated on the slopes of Etna in accordance with the dictates of certified organic agriculture. The vineyards rest on soils of volcanic nature, shallow and particularly rich in mineral elements, located at an altitude of between 600 and 700 metres above sea level in an area characterised by considerable temperature excursions between day and night. Following the harvest, the grapes are transferred to the cellar, where they undergo a short skin maceration directly in the press. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, the same type of wine container where the mass matures for about 3 months on the fine lees before final bottling.

The 'Scalunera' Etna Rosato signed Torre Mora - Piccini presents itself in the glass with a sparkling rosé colour between onion skin and salmon. The nose evokes intriguing notes of cherry, ripe peach and pink grapefruit that blend with delicate hints of spice and passion fruit, as well as iodised mineral nuances on the finish. The taste is structured, fresh and savoury, with a very fine tannic texture complementing the tasty and very drinkable finish.
